Village Fright

Moon walks into the village but there is no one to be seen. "Looks like we came to the right place." Moon says to Death's Hand. Moon pulls a harpie feather off her necklace and surrounds it with dark energy. "Dark Harpie of the night wind, Rise forth, I call you to fly again." chants Moon. The feather absorbs the magic and grows until it tranforms into a Dark Harpie.

Death's Hand: "There is a malicious presense here. It knows we are coming, and will most probably prepare an ambush."

She says that, but stands still beside Moon without doing anything.

"Well, we have to kill it either way so let's go. Harpie fly ahead of us." says Moon. 'I don't like using my harpie as bait because I feel it's pain and death but it's better than walking into a ambush ourselves.' thinks Moon. She starts walking and the harpie stays 6 feet ahead of her

Death's Hand walks behind moon, her eyes closed.

A scream breaks out from a nearby house, it's door smashed open. One of the upper windows was suddenly splattered with blood and all went quiet.

"Let's go!" says Moon rushing over to the house. The harpie follows her. Moon opens the door and steps inside and sees _______

Death's Hand stands behind Moon's back.

The window was open now and the room was covered in blood and body parts. A child's limbs was ripped off, blood pouring from his body as an arm layed on the ground at their feet. A leg was on the dresser with claw marks all on it. Another leg was by the kids head and the other arm was in the mother's hand. The mother lay on the floor, her stomach cut open with some contents missing. Half of her head was gone and her brains were on the floor. One of her intestins hung from the window and a blood trail led from the bodies and out the window. The mother seemed young, maybe early twenties, and the kid wasn't but maybe three or four years old.

Moon quickly exits the house. "Whatever monster did that is going to have the same done to it." Moon says fiercely and starts walking around the house to follow the trail. The harpie is flying 6 feet ahead of Moon again.

Death's Hand says nothing and follows Moon.

The Hell Fiend was on top of the roof of the building they had been in. It stuck it's tongue out and then looked down in their direction. It hissed and barred its teeth. It's tongue slashed around in the air and it quickly disappeared from the edge of the roof and out of sight.

Death' Hand: "The creature is on the roof."

"On the roof?" says Moon and looks at the trail. It did seem to lead to the roof and when she looked she thought she saw some kind of tail. 'Thats odd, most monsters would attack when they had that kind of advantage' thinks Moon and starts running around the building again trying to catch the monster. The harpie keeps flying 6 feet in front of Moon.

On the next side of the roof, just as the harpie turned ahead of her, before they could make it around, a tongue whipped out, attempting to strike the wing of the harpie. If it hit the wing it would most likely knock the Harpie off balance and out of the air as its tongue went back. The fiend was fast enough that its tongue would outmatch the speed of the Harpies reaction time, giving it no time to retaliate with its claws.

The harpie and Moon give out screechs. The harpie from it's wing being hit and slamming into the ground and Moon from feeling her harpies pain. 'Well guess it was a better idea to let my harpie go first' thinks Moon as she quickly starts running around the corner.

Death's Hand says nothing and follows Moon. As they get to the corner, she walks past Moon and turns the corner first.

The Hell Fiend looks at Death's Hand as she turns the corner and then pulls back. It would strike them one at a time. It turned and as it did, the end of its tail hung off the edge of the house as it moved away from the edge.

Moon sees the tail again. 'Smart, it knows it can't take all of us at once.' she thinks. Moon walks to the middle of the road away from the building and draws out her bow. "Harpie fly to the edge of the roof." orders Moon getting her arrow in place. The wounded harpie flies up as it was told and stands on the edge of the roof. Moon draws her bow ready to fire at the first sign of the monster. 'This is going to hurt if it takes the bait' thinks Moon watching.

The Hell Fiend rushed forward, it moved like a snake, but much faster. It's four arms were crossed and spread out to attempt to block the movement of the harpies legs and arms so it couldn't attack the hell fiend using its talons. As it did so it's large head opened it's mouth wide, wider than the harpies head, and attempted to bite off the harpies head in one strike.

The harpie's screech was cut off as it's head was bite off and turned the harpie into a feather. The pain made Moon misaim her bow and the arrow flew towards the fiend. 'Shoot that's to low to hit it's chest.' Moon thinks. She had aimed for it's chest thinking it's heart was there

The monster moved down after biting off the head and then the arrow hit its intended target. It lodged deep inside the left side of the chest where any creatures heart would normally be. Black blood seeped from the wound and it let out a shreek of pain and fell down on the roof, its body becoming motionless. It would seem dead to them, but it was still alive, just playing dead.

'It couldn't be that easy.' Moon thinks pulling another arrow back. She sends this one flying towards the fiends head

The arrow lodged into the head of the fiend and its body jerks then goes motionless again. Black blood seeped from its two wounds, but that was the only movement.

Moon was still suspicious of the creature. 'If it was dead why did it move the second time the arrow hit?' she thinks. Moon puts her bow away and draws her sword. She slowly walks towards the monster prepared to attack if it moved

The monster's head lay over the edge of the roof while the rest of it's body was now hidden from view on the roof as she got closer.
