Village Fright

Moon finishes walking up and swings her sword to chop off the creature's head

The head was too close to the building to chop the entire thing off, so just a foot of its head came off, leaving another two feet and half of it was the rest of the mouth. To most people, it would definitely be dead. It's tail twitched and its claws tightened together in pain, but it held its upper body and head still and held back a roar of pain. It's body was hidden from view by the roof so Moon wouldn't see what its body was doing or that it was still alive. It's tongue seemed to not be in its mouth. Though if you looked into its mouth closely you could see the pointed tip of their tongue in the throat.

Moon swung her sword again trying to finish cutting it's head off

As her sword rose for the final cut, the monster's claw rose and then struck faster than she could in an attempt to slice off her arms with its razor like claws. But before it could touch her, a distroted blast slammed into it, sending it flying off the roof and into an empty building. Where it had hit and the area following the trail was distorted as Kazuki stood a good thirty feet away with his hand pointed at the roof.

The blast knocked Moon back onto her butt. "Ok, I would say a little warning next time but by then it would have been to late. So thanks, I should have known it was faking." says Moon standing back up and dusting off her dress with her free hand since the other had her sword in it. "Wait, were you following me!?" accuses Moon looking at him

"I got suspicious of her," said Kazuki nodding in Death's direction. "Besides, I don't leave friends behind. We were followed for a ways by them creatures. But as soon as we got close to this village, they seemed to go away, as if they were scared of this place. I guess these things are territorial. Now be on guard. It's still alive. I don't see how though with the arrow through its heart and part of its head missing."

"Yah cut it in half first, fuss at you later." says Moon walking and picking up the feather that was all that was left of her harpie. She put it in her pouch so she could reattach it to her necklace later. Moon starts walking towards the building the creature had been blasted into. 'Why did he come back? No one ever wants to help me.' Moon tries to find a reason why Kazuki would come back

Kazuki began charging another Spirit Blast. He homed in on the monsters presence and said, "It's heading for the back, go around. I'll take left, you take right!" He then broke left and ran around the building to the back.

"I don't take orders well." grumbles Moon but does as he says. She starts running around the building sword in hand ready to fight

Just as they reached the back, the monsters head broke out and it started toward the next building. "Get ready!" yelled Kazuki as he ran around the creature. It could see as well as it used to so it was moving slowly. Kazuki waited and then fired a Spirit Blast at it close range. The monster blew off the ground and began spinning straight toward Moon, but over her by a bit but still within sword range. "Now!" yellled Kazuki.

As soon as it stopped spinning, Moon runs up and swings her sword down trying to cut it in half.

The body jerked wildly as it was cut in two. The upper half stopped moving, but the lower half swung a claw at her. Kazuki jumped in the way and his arm got sliced deep down the forearm.

Moon stood there looking at Kazuki. She was so shocked she couldn't move. 'Why did he do that?' she was thinking but couldn't come up with any answers

"Kill it!" said Kazuki as he held is harm, in great pain. His jacket was already starting to stain with blood. Their claws were so sharp that it sliced through his skin and jacket like butter.

Moon snaped out of her shock. She lifts her sword and swings it down at what was left of the creature.

When the blade sliced through the base of it's tail, the thing jerked once then went completely still. "It's dead..." muttered Kazuki through clenched teeth as he watched its aura disappear.

"That was foolish. Why did you do that? Why did you come back? Why did you help me?" Moon starts asking questions. She reachs in her pouch and pulls out a roll of bandages and starts binding up Kazuki's arm.

"Well. Wether you know it or not, or even realize it, you helped me out. And I won't let a friend get hurt," said Kazuki as he sat up and held out his arm so she could bandage it better. "I couldn't live with myself then. I did say I would help you after all."

"But no one ever wants to help me or be my friend." mumbles Moon confused. She keeps binding his arm up with the bandage

"I think it's best we go out the other way of the village. I don't know where those things went. But we got lucky with this one. Two of them will probably be the death of us in our current state. Lucky for me I can use my other hand for the Spirit Blast. If I was a swordsmen, I'd probably be useless," said Kazuki as he smiled up at her.

((she's only 2 inchs taller -_-' ))

"Ok, where should we go?" Moon asks still a bit confused. 'He called me friend, but I havn't done anything for him but cause him trouble. Why would he call me friend?' Moon tries to think of a reason but comes up with nothing. She finished with his arm and put what was left of the bandages in her pouch.

"First. I think we should check the houses for any survivors. Some of the houses look in tact and boarded up. Then we ask for the shortest path to another town. There we can get some rest before we head anywhere else," said Kazuki as he stood and tested his arm. It hurt like hell, but atleast the bleeding had stopped. He grimmaced and then looked at her and smiled. "Thanks. If you didn't have them bandages I'd have probably bled to death or something."

"You learn what you need when you spend 8 years on your own. Why would you call me a friend? All I've done is cause you trouble." says Moon looking at the ground. She figured since she couldn't think of anything she might as well ask

Kazuki laughed and looked at her. "You're a friend because I trust you. We had each others back, and we got along. We are similar in a few ways, and we are both alone. So why not be friends? That's the true question. And as for causing me trouble. Friends put each other in awkward or troubling situations, but they help each other get through them. Besides, how have you caused me trouble? I don't see any way you have. It was Sal's fault what happened to us at the Keep. It was the creatures fault for not dieing when it's supposed to. It's not your fault for anything. So don't say anything is your fault. The only thing you could be trouble to me with, is if you attacked and tried to kill me. Which, I trust you, and I know you won't do that."

"I havn't done anything to earn your friendship." Moon argues still looking at the ground.
