Out of the tower

"Just another nightmare. You get some sleep, I'll be fine." says Moon quietly while looking out the window.

"A nightmare?" he said as he looked at her, a little worried. "You should get some rest too. You should be more exhausted then I am. You fought hard today. Don't worry. It wasn't real. Just get back to sleep," said Kazuki as he got up and walked over to her.

"It had been real once." whispered Moon a tear coming to her eye. She was glad he couldn't see with her turned away

Kazuki wanted to ask what happened, but her aura turned to a light blue. He stayed silent for a moment then rested a hand on her shoulder.

"I was dreaming of the day my powers first showed. The day my parents left me." says Moon fighting tears. That was the day she tried to forget but never could

Kazuki heard the change in her voice as she fought the tears. "I am sorry... This might not help with me saying it, but the past is the past. There is no changing it. Just focus on making the future better," said Kazuki as he took a step forward so he was beside her.

"You don't know how hard I've tried to forget that day." says Moon

Kazuki didn't say anything. He didn't know what to say. He would try comforting her, but she'd probably snap at him or stab him. Kazuki sighed and closed his eyes, letting himself since the area around them better.

Moon tries again to try and put the memory out of her mind but she couldn't. It kept playing over and over in her head till she couldn't fight the tears anymore and she started crying.

Kazuki opened his eyes and took the risk. He wrapped an arm around her and held her against him. "It's going to be ok. I promise. You may not trust me, but I'll prove to you that I can help you."

"Not without putting yourself at risk. Their still hunting me and they see you with me who knows what they will think." says Moon trying to stop crying.

"I'll take them all on if I have to. They shouldn't force you to do something you don't wanna do. If you'll trust me, I can help protect you, if I can find out their aura, I can help you avoid them. I can sense anything within a one hundred foot radius of me. As long as you're with me, they won't be able to find you," said Kazuki as he looked at her. She was slightly taller than him, which he found a bit awkward.

"Why are you nice to me? Everyone else just turns me away and I turn them away. Why are you differnt?" asks Moon looking at him

"Well. Maybe it's because people shun me too. Or maybe it's just because I am just nicer than others. Or it could be that I understand, that I actually took the time to get to know you better," said Kazuki as he thought it over. "Besides, you've given me no reason not to like you."

"Why would you be shunned? Your not the one called a witch and chased away." says Moon

"Lol. What do you think people think when they see my eyes? I don't have normal vision. When I see people, they are outlined in aura. I can kind of see through things as well. Objects without Aura... they are different in my eyes. And I can sense things and if I focus on them, I can see them. My eyes are like that of a blind person, yet I have color in them and no pupil. People stay away from me," said Kazuki as he closed his eyes.

"I don't find them scarie." says Moon looking at him. She had stopped crying.

"Well. You're the first. The only other people that don't are the people at the fishing company my dad used to run. Now my mom runs it. My dad was killed by some water monster while out fishing. I helped bring in alot of money because I could see where all the fish were," said Kazuki. He looked at her and laughed. "sorry. I got carried away."

"You deserved to talk after hearing me complain." says Moon. She hesitantly lays her head againest his shoulder.

Kazuki smiled and closed his eyes. The creatures were sneaking around. "I think we should get some rest. We are gunna have to fight our way out in the morning..." said Kazuki. Though he kind of didn't want this to end. He had never felt this way, he had never really talked to a girl before or held one close besides his mother. But this felt right. It felt... relaxing.

"I could just send a harpie out after whatever they are." says Moon closing her eyes.

"That wouldn't be a good idea. The rain would take out the scent of the creatures. As well as slow your harpie down by weighing down its feathers. And they are about thirty feet out now. I would recommend rest. We can leave when its stopped raining in the morning," said Kazuki as he looked out into the dark forest. Something seemed to be moving on the edge, something Kazuki didn't tell her about.

Moon didn't answer. She had fallen asleep standing there in his arms.

Kazuki looked at her as he felt her breathing calm. He smiled and sat her down, stting down as well. He layed her against him and layed his jacket back over her before falling asleep as well.

Moon slowly wakes up in the morning because of the light coming through the window had woken her up. She notices Kazuki's jacket and arm around her. She carefuly twists free so not to wake him up. She stands and walks over to the window and looks out. It was a lovly morning and so thinking Kazuki was still asleep, Moon starts singing.
